Ryan Braun is currently a junior studying acting in the school of Theatre, Film and Television at UCLA and is a co-founder of the Lyric Theatre. Braun was born in Pasadena.
I first became involved at the Lyric when I acted in one of my mother’s shows for the Lyric Theatre Foundation. I then became part owner of the building and am now working with the two resident theatre companies, Fourth World Theatre and Mostly Musicals.
From my experiences with these companies, I hope to begin my own production company in the next few years. With this company, I plan to produce work that challenges myself as a producer, as an actor and as an artist. I also wish to challenge the people involved in those productions to produce quality theatre and to help raise the standard of theatre in a town dominated by the film industry.
I think the most important thing I have learned over the years is never to settle. If you never explore your fears, you will never be capable of producing art that is rich with the human condition.
